Happy Mother's Day
I wanted to wish all the mothers and mothers to be out there a very Happy Mother's Day. I was very fortunate to have more than one strong female figure in my life growing up. I have my mom and my gram. I now also have a mother in law and a "step" mom. They are all very different and I wouldn't change any of them for the world. I have the kind hearted one who is the first to text you after your big meeting at work. I have the secret braggart, she won't praise you to your face but she will tell the entire world how great you are whether they want to hear it or not. (sorry demoula's check out girl) I have the cheerleader who knows just what to say when the world gets you down, who makes me laugh harder than anyone in the world. And I have the mother figure who never thought she wanted kids but took the role like a fish to water.
My mom

My gram

My mother in law

My "step" mom

And in line with things mom handed down to me.
My mom gave me a ring with my birthstone when I was in high school that had been her grandmother's. To be honest I never loved it. No one did. It just wasn't quite right. I am not s yellow gold fan and the stone was cloudy and just didn't look it's best. But I knew it had potential. I took it out last month and wore it for a week testing it out.

I asked what people thought and everyone said similar things. Why not reset it in silver or white gold. So that's what we did. We went back to the place that made my engagement ring (in 1998! I feel old) and we looked around the store and the lady made suggestions based on my style. Without knowing how it would turn out I went for it. They've done lots of work for my family over the years so I knew no matter what I'd leave happy. Well it came out amazing. I only had a vague idea what'd it be and it's so much better than I expected.

I plan to probably wear it on my right hand but it looks nice with my wedding band too. The lady suggested making it one size wider than my wedding band due to the large stone and since silver is so soft a bezel would be prettier than 6 prongs. It is the perfect marriage of mine and Dave's style and I can't wait until someday I can pass it to a daughter (or daughter in law) of my own.

I lost my pop this past year and I was extremely close to him and I took some bits today from his drawer to wear and have him close at all times. I found a bunch of tie tacks and a watch to wear. Actually all the pins were exactly that giveaways. I can't wait to wear them.
