We attempted an outside photo today. It was high 29s and windy! Yeah not warm enough yet. I froze and couldn't stop my hair from taking flight.

I have to admit I am loving this dress and it's because it is being kind to my size (as in I look thinner. I assure you I haven't lost an ounce!) I tried on a skirt when I got this dress and it had the total opposite effect. Oy bad. But I quickly cropped it on the phone to show Dave the shirt only instead.

I had two makeup photos and I was in potatoshop putting them side by side for the blog and I thought hey what if I flip one! I just did a dark purple eye wing and orange gloss with peach blush.

I also got a blurry snap of yesterday's outfit.

Are you a dressing room photo sneaker? I don't often because I don't often shop alone but if I am on the fence of if something flatters I snap a few and ask for input.

My mom's reply on this was. No belt, flat flat hair, headband and knee high black boots. Great idea. My crown teasing fell in the high winds. Next time bump-it all the way!

Edited to add. Someone at work said I looked like I should be a dunkin donuts spokesmodel.hrm.

Seriously do NOT defend your boot collection. It is fabulous and essential and I totally get it. Even though it's not "winter" here like where you live... I could wear boots about 7-8 months out of the year given the fog, rain, and overall chilliness we have most of the time. I hope to have a collection like yours eventually, because my one pair of comfortable boots needs a break (and new soles)!

No. Could you link me to what you are referring to? I wasn't inspired by anything exactly I bought a dress that I liked and then as I mentioned my mom picked the other elements. I am positive she has no idea who Prada is. But she was alive in the 60's which is what we both lean towards. I'm generally a dressing room picture taker, simply because my shopping buddies don't live in the same city as me. However I never snap a picture if I think someone is around. Fortunately, I also work strange and flexible hours so I usually shop when no one else would think to!

That is exactly what it is. People assume that if you wear something they wouldn't they have free reign to just say what ever pops in their mouth. If she'd said it differently I might not of been so embarrassed. People are afraid of color around here I think..

Horse blanket. I mean horses are nice but "horse blanket" is not a nice comparassion really. OH you remind me of someone who thinks its ok to just say random things!

I love this! Also, I haven't had a chance to comment since the hair color change and I just wanted to say how great it looks! I loved the red and I love this too! So shiny! :-)

As for the Dunkin Donuts comment...I can relate. Sometimes I think that when you wear a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g out of the total ordinary or even just dress with some personality, people feel the need (or maybe just the freedom) to offer their 2 cents. I have a bright red vintage winter coat that I adore. It's shocking red with a couple of black stripes and super warm. First a few weeks back a woman on the train told me that I was "brave" for wearing such a color. Then last week my train conductor told me it looked like a horse blanket!! I guffawed at that one! People are a riot! :-)

Aww, boo on them - just tell them they're reminded of Dunkin because you look so sweet ;D.. I think you look uber cute. It's a different silhouette for you. I've been loving that shade of orange for spring/summer. I actually like the dress with the purple tights too.

I'm guilty of the sneaky photos. Even if I'm dragging someone along, I may snap a quick snapshot to take out of the dressing room to share with friends/hubby, for example if the dressing room isn't one I can't easily pop out of.

I love this dress! I never take pictures in changing rooms, the light is usually so unflattering, espcially in h&m. I don't know how yours has got such good lighting!

They hurt too much :( I fear I can't wear them anymore. Fat head + Sensitive + headband = OUUUUUUUUUUUCH

In defense of my boot collection. It's winter 7-8 months a year here so they are much more practical than anything else ;) and I also recently replaced a few pairs so youll see more than I have. (I had to get rid of 3 pairs due to unrepairable holes in them. I walk hard I guess)
