Getting started playing with makeup for under $20
Have you ever seen a makeup look or a YouTube fun makeup look and you thought "I'd love to try that but I don't have those colors and it would be so expensive to go buy them for one look"? I do all the time! Also
I know I have thought that recently and then I remembered the Coast Scents 88 palettes! For around $18.95
you should get 88 colors to play with. That breaks down to roughly .22 a color. The colors are tiny but they have huge payoff and they are comparable in color payoff to MAC colors. MAC shadows are $14 a color. In any one look you might need four colors which at MAC could set you back $56 just in 4 shadows.I am not saying they are the same formula but they do look just as good as many MAC.
I swatched a few colors quickly with just my finger.
Can you tell which one is MAC? They aren't the same but hey they get the job done! Plus you don't have to buy a $14 Lime shadow if you want to wear it only a few times to match a certain dress.
To give you some idea. Here is the original palette that sells for $18.95 which has some matte and some shimmers.(can you tell I pulled out a real camera!)

Does that mean I don't buy MAC and am not going to in the future? No way. Instead I use the 88 palette and the colors I really love and use often I buy in MAC because the palettes are as I said very small. Plus if you have been wanting to get into makeup but didn't want to waste a ton of money this is a great way to see if you like it. I personally like the Ultra Shimmer palette the best because I prefer shimmers but if you like mattes the Original palette is great too. I got both mine as a gift from my mom but they are available on Amazon. (If you buy from my links I will get a few cents. I am not in this for the money though and no one asked me to write this.) I just love learning about new fun things so I thought I would share it with others who might want to play.
It has every color of the rainbow. Don't see a color you like, use the primaries to mix up your own!

Lime crimes it's like damn glue. Ive tried a lot and it's the best.
I've never had a longevitiy issue with this palette and ive had it 3 years. I say you should apply with a brush and not the foam applicator for maximum payoff. Id say they last as long if not more than macs packed shadow. If you use it wet you don't even need a primer and it isn't gonna budge. I've used it as a liner for years. When you see me do primary colors it's usually this.
