An outfit, a review and Dave update!!
With the windchill today it is in the single digits. I didn't have it in me to attempt a skirt. So I piled on as many thick layers as I could wear and still walk normally.
Sweater Gap 2006
Purple turtleneck H&M 2007
Jeans Compliments of Lands' End Canvas
Boots Target
Scarf Forever 21
I have on these boots.
I like how my makeup came out. I used a plummy eyeshadow from Benefit called Get Figgy
I love my scarf it reminds me of Warhol.
I have been whining for as long as I have had a site about my skin. It is very sensitive and so many things make me break out. I recently gave gram my face mositurizer because she was putting body lotion on her face. I was on the hunt for a new one that didn't break me out. I have tried just about everything out there and seen doctors and I have asked you all for suggestions over the years. The big problem is something will work for a few month then BAM back to square one. Dave and I went for a walk on Saturday and he helped me talk to sales people. (I'm too shy sometimes!)I have had numerous makeup artist tell me that exfoliating might helps. So I tried Ocean Salt
and he said it worked great.(I will report back on the mositurizer samples!)
I have a little news. For those who don't follow me on Twitter you might not know yet....
DAVE IS DONE WITH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In 2005 on his 26th birthday he decided he wanted to start over and go back to school to be an architect.(his original degree was in Graphic Design) From September 2005- January 2011 he went to school full time at night and held a full time job at the same time. He was getting up and leaving at 7 am working a minimum of 40-50 hours a week and then going to school until 11pm at night. It was a 7 year program and he finished it in 5.5! It was an uphill battle and there are plenty of times he wanted to quit but he persevered. (with a good shove from me) He has been with his Architecture firm for 5 years now so he knows exactly what he got himself into. He says I can't officially call him an Architect until he does his exams (9(?) to be licensed!) So I will call him an Archimahtect until then. (think of Homer saying sax-a-mah-fone) His parents must be very proud of their children, a doctor and an architect. I feel like the odd man and the black sheep sometimes but I am only just beginning. (and none of them see me that way of course. But I mean a DOCTOR!)
because I always am shoving a camera in people's faces. I have the exact moment he said he wanted to do it.
Standing outside the Zimmerman house by Frank Lloyd Wright.
I am so proud of him and expect to hear me brag about him often and you will be seeing much more of him now that he isn't occupied 90 hours a week. (Seriously)
The next morning he made Crispy french toast with homemade apple pie filling and bacon drizzled in caramel.
On the cat front Waffle who already has us handcuffed in the beverage department has outsmarted us again. She literally puts her little arm around cups, pulls them to her and throws them on the floor. She goes nuts trying to get it from you.
We started out with plastic cups because occasional she would spill one. Then she started spilling them all. We moved onto the starbucks ones with the straw and there are only so many times they can hit a wood floor before those broke. We got coffee sippy cups. Same deal as the last ones. Eventually they all broke from being thrown on the floor. So we moved onto press and seal on our plastic cups with a straw. Never to be outsmarted she figured that out.
Next up sports bottles. How long until she figures those out?
That said I love her so much. She is only crazy part of the time. The rest she is a lover. How could you not love this face.
How was your weekend?

What an amazing feeling for Dave to be done with school at last. I can't wait till Jude is!
I love the plum eye shadow, btw. For some reason purples & blues are great on us fair skinned ginger girls.
my favorite that i EVER found was St Ives Oil-Free Moisturizer. just right!
sadly, it has been discontinued -- when i found that out, i went online and ordered as many bottles as i could find. i think i still have one or two left, but when those run out, i dont know WHAT im going to do.
::le sigh::
I love the animated eyeshadow picture! And the cozy feel of your outfit today.
And the cat updates on Twitter always amuse me!
Same with engineers. When I graduated, I took a generalized exam that all engineers must take. Then I took a specialized exam when I got enough experience (5+ years). Is it the same for Dave? Can he apply any of the years he's been working at his firm towards his experience base? Will he pursue a specialization? I think you said he was a LEEDs guy?
Oh, BTW, I like the sweater -- makes your hair pop.
On the kitty front, I think you should remake the "I'm a Kitty Cat" video using Waffle.
Yes he needs a few thousands hours for IDP at different levels before he does his exams and has a lot already. He is LEED accredited.
he can answer if he is specializing because I am not sure. he has said he wanted to do keep with the sustainabilty field.
(it didn't work)
SO glad you found yourself a good exfoliator. I've been using Walmart's version of St. Ives' Apricot scrub about 2-3 times a week and oil of olay facewash for a while now and they've worked great. I also discovered that my lazy ass will use makeup remover/facewash wipes even when I don't want to wash my face---which has done WONDERS for it. Anyway, glad you've got yourself a happy face place too.
I totally get the Warhol-ic (?) scarf.
The other thing he probably can't do is sign contracts.
But for daily purposes, he is an architect. Attaboy!
- CONGRATULATIONS DAVE!!! I wish him the best of luck on his exams, but if he already survived all that I'm sure he will have no problems.
- I want a cat. Every time I see pictures of your adorable kitten I lament how allergic I am to cats.
First, you look super duper cute. Second, how awesome to get your husband back from school now! :)
and to you for sticking by him.
p.s. waffle is hilarious and your scarf is awesome!
Out :(
Also Congratulations to your husband. It's an awesome thing to achieve your dream.
And now I want some french toast... =)
Hilary - woot! You get to see your husband more often!
