An outfit, a craft and a review
I was not liking how the photos were coming out this morning. I just felt prettier than they were saying. The more I took the more I hated them. So instead I just started goofing off.

My new cowl Dave made! He finished it last night. About 5 years ago we were stranded out at my parents house over Christmas (They live 20 miles out from civilization) without a car, Dave who doesn't like to read was bored so my mom taught him how to crochet. He then taught me. He made up the design part himself. The yarn was Malabrigo. (LOVES IT) in return I am knitting him mittens. He can't knit. It is one of the few skills I have and he doesn't. Usually you just give him instructions or a YouTube video and he can do it. Anything. Haircuts, oil change, baking, small engine repair.
Now for the review! Do you love Gwen Stefani as much as I do? I have dozens of photos of her over the years saved as a constant source of inspiration. Have you seen her new L'oreal ad?
According to the L'oreal Facebook page she is wearing Infallible Le Rouge Lipcolour in #714 Blazing Sangria.
They claim you get up to 10 hours of wear. I found I did get a few hours of wear I didn't get 10. I didn't put anything over it because negates the long wear. It took about 15 minutes to fully "dry" It had a slight sticky feeling but it wasn't unpleasant at all. It didn't feel tight like a lot of long wears tend to either.. I don't notice any smell to it. It did dry my lips out some but no where near as bad as MAC Russian Red does and that isn't even a long wear lipstick!
After letting it dry fully I did the kiss the paper test. Pretty impressive. Most lipsticks I wear would leave a fully formed red print.
And how it looks on. I don't think it looks nearly as awesome as Gwen does but I really like this color on me. Dave who isn't a huge fan of red lips really liked this one. He said it had more of a berry twinge to it than most reds I wear.
After 3 hours. I had drank a coffee, bottle of water, ate a bowl of oatmeal and had 14 pieces of bubblegum (shush!)
It retails at CVS for $10. I had some extra bucks so it was virtually free for me but I would buy it again. I normally don't like to pay $10 for a lipstick I can't try on first. (That is why I prefer MAC I can try it on and see if I like it first) but since I liked this one so much I would try another color.
How are you today? Any weekend plans? What is for lunch?

I'm impressed by Dave's craftiness. I wish I knew how to knit or crochet.
The lipstick looks great. I've been wary of lipsticks I couldn't try on too. Good call on using CVS bucks. I'll have to check it out when I have a chance and some bucks.
I have trouble with red lipstick - I never like it on myself, but I love it on others. That shade is great on you.
i may have to wrestle up some red lipstick. theres something about red lips that just make someone look polished.
And HOW many pieces of gum? Really?! :)
For a long wear red lipstick, my favorite is the CoverGirl Outlast All Day Lip Color in Ever Reddy (although it looks like that color is discontinued/renamed). I get 5 or 6 good hours of wear, even with eating and drinking.
It seems like any heavily pigmented lip color is drying. I think it's just the effect the pigments have on skin.
I can knit (sorta), but never wrapped my head around crocheting.
I'm pretty good. Hubs and I are thinking about taking a road trip for the weekend and staying at my brother's. Trying to decide if it's worth fighting the snow.
Lunch today was grilled cheese with provolone and caramelized peppers and onions with 2 pieces of bacon on the side.

lunch was left over great nothern beans (cooked in the slow cooker, yummy) with chopped up left over pork roast mixed in over brown rice. it was delicious and perfect for a drizzly, chilly day. does a left over + a left over make a double left over?
weekend forecast: taking the step-daughter clothes shopping, which could be fun or disasterous, with a 15 yr old you just never know. hubby & i trying to make a date for dinner & a movie to celebrate our 8 yr anniversary that was tuesday. should be a good weekend!
