Thursday where I try something new

Cream or Ivory is something I always avoided. (cream is different than white, white I find a bit easier to wear in general) It always made me look so sickly so I just didn't buy things in that color. But when I saw this dress I HAD to have it. Usually I fade away in ivory or cream but I thought the bright colored flowers might counter act the expanses of cream. The dress was a bit retro CHECK it had bright pink and orange CHECK it was tailored CHECK and it is cotton DOUBLE CHECK and super clearance CHECK so while I feared I might not be able to get away with it I bought it anyways. Something I am consciously trying to avoid. Buy things I love. Know what I mean? I figured since it was cotton if it was too light I could dye it! I am my own worst critic (well except for that meany pants who lives in Australia who slammed in my comments a few weeks ago) and I think that not only can I wear this dress but it also looks nice.
I tried for some cheesecakey photos today but they all look awkward. I am too shy/ goofy to do cheesecake I think.
LEMON shoes (you will be blocked if you call them banana just as a warning.) super shimmery and nice leather on sale $12 Aldo
Dress Target you can't really see the tie at the neck. and cotton so I thought I'd give it a shot and if not DYE IT!
Earrings I made them.
The shoes while not my tallest don't have a platform and I am finding them a bit awkward today. I think its the angle. Need more practice i think.
After feeling so uggo yesterday I had to wear something I felt pretty and fun it. It worked. No matter how crappy I feel, if I am dressed in a manner I feel is nice, I am better for it. To add insult to injury I ended up wearing a pair of sneakers out on date night last night. I have not worn sneakers outside of a gym in at LEAST 4 years. I just don't like them. I feel ugly and awful in them. The second I stepped out of the station last night Dave even commented "Sneakers??!!" and two separate times in the evening he said how weird it was. My shoes were killing me and the sneakers were in my desk at work for the gym so I changed into them. ug. I need a pair of those foldable ballet flats so I have them at all times!
Is there something you always feel ugly in?

clare, kelly, d'rae, bridgett, boutique girl , thanks!
watergirl yes I have a wicked problem with feeling chic in flats. I feel reh.
becky I do the SAME thing. I live in Boston and take the T and walk and once I am work I will hobble across campus in 5 inch heels just to keep up the look. I will even head over to my weight watcher meetings on the 4th floor of the building next door. (i admit sometimes I take elevator)
sal you have almost the exact same shoes!!!
dave thats funny because you are the one who talked me into the shoes. But the thing is they are such high quality that at 12 it would of been a shame not to try them with stuff
brooklyn I change shoes OFTEN see in the middle of day I have sandals on and people go "hey were are the yellow shoes?" Also invest in quality and it helps Cole Haan heels with nike air are fantastic. Mind you I paid 180 on sale for my red one. Also I buy gel inserts for almost everything. The ones I have on here I have the ball of foot inserts in them. I need heel ones to because these tore my heels up. But I make sure the shoes I bring to change are cute too. The sandals were champage leather with flowers on them. so I don't feel like I am settling. That requires that I always have shoes in my purse but ya know...
